Red Mallee Burl (Eucalyptus oleosa & E. socialis) – This wood is harvested from two eucalyptus species that are too small for use as lumber but produce strikingly figured burls suitable for small turnings and other projects. Sandy pink to reddish brown in color, it is a hard, dense wood that generally turns well but can wear tool edges quickly.
Nominal measurements are 3/4" square by 5 1/2" long.
